Lionel Nimrod's Inexplicable World
Having previously written for Week Ending, The End of the Roadshow & On The Hour. Lee & Herring made the jump to writng and performing with "Lionel Nimrod's Inexplicable World", and went on investigate a bevy of paranormal and mysterious subjects over the course of two series.
The title character of Lionel Nimrod is reportedly a sixties sci-fi star who apparently played “Mackay the Morloi” in the cult series “Star Ark” and was brought to life by former Dr Who, Tom Baker.
The rest of the cast was rounded off with Armando Iannucci & Rebecca Front alongside Lee & Herring themselves.
"Lionel Nimrod" never received a commercial release, and was repeated for the first time (bar a half-repeat run as pre-cursor to "Lee & Herring's Fist Of Fun" in 1993) in 2003 on the BBC's new digital channel - BBC7 (since rebranded as Radio 4 Extra).
The MP3s on this site are taken from those BBC7 repeat broadcasts.
